Iscariot
Iscariot is the surname identifying Judas, one of the twelve disciples, and distinguishing him from Judas [the son] of James, also called Judas (not Iscariot). In the UPDV text, Judas Iscariot is the disciple who delivered Jesus up: he went to the chief priests, money was promised, he sought an opportunity, and at the arrest he identified Jesus by a kiss. Luke says Satan entered him; John says he kept the bag, was a thief, Satan entered him after the sop, and he came to the garden with the soldiers and attendants.
